The Sacred Life Foundation has been set up as a company limited by guarantee. At present our primary focus lays within the development of the Shekinashram. Essentially and primarily our aim with the Shekinashram is to demonstrate a way to live in community which is totally conscious, intentionally and holistically harmonious at every level. The Shekinashram is an exploration of living together with consciousness in a way that embraces and celebrates life fully in a spiritually integrated way.
The Sacred Life Foundation is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee. It intends to become a charity. The Sacred Life Foundation has been instrumental in establishing the Shekinashram, and is currently implementing fund raising initiatives in order to assist in development. By developing facilities and securing financial stability the Shekinashram will be able to fulfil its philanthropic aspirations. The Foundation also promotes and provides public relations on behalf of the Shekinashram. At present all people involved in the Foundation are non-paid voluntary workers who, committed to the wider vision of the Shekinashram, are working together to empower its fruition. The Sacred Life Foundation is not a company founded on personal interest, and reflectively no member owns a financial stake in the company. All financial interests managed by the Sacred Life Foundation will be generated by unconditional donations, grants, fund raising events, or by virtue of our own facilities revenue.
Internal Structures
As well as having a well established and growing family of advocates, at present the Sacred Life Foundation has a team of committed volunteers who are conducting research into various areas of focus. These areas of focus i.e. research into sustainability, finances, fund raising etc are presided over by a small team which is supervised by a team co-ordinator. The Sacred Life Foundation has a management committee of seven who are responsible for implementing the major decision-making process within the Foundation. These decisions are informed by, and in consideration of notions passed and agreed by consensus of the Ashram residents. As well as regular management committee meetings which provide forums that highlight progress and develop action plans for the future, there is a newsletter and a monthly progress update (The Shekinashram Chronicles) on our website.
