The Location - Glastonbury
The Ashram is located on Dod Lane, at the foot of Chalice Hill, Glastonbury, England's most established alternative community. Glastonbury is long associated with spiritual aspiration, and on an energetic level it is totally supportive of radical growth processes. It is one of a small handful of spiritual centres which are recognised internationally, and it draws literally thousands of pilgrims every week. The Shekinashram offers pilgrims a resting-place, not only physically but also mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. It is a place of sanctuary, education and transformation.
Up until now, though with a planetary reputation as a place of great power and transformation, Glastonbury has not had a community where people can live a life dedicated specifically to the realisation of their own Divine principle. Glastonbury has a thriving alternative community and it is widely recognised as one of the most significant spiritual centres in Europe. It has been closely associated with the idea of the New Jerusalem and is accepted by some as the planetary Heart chakra. There is great support and appreciation for the Shekinashram and its facilities being available in Glastonbury.
