| The Challenge of This Moment \ |
The challenge of this moment is always to Realise the very Truth of our Being. Yet how challenging life can become for those who have consciously forged the commitment to the realisation of Self, and yet resist the animation of its inevitable revelation. It certainly appears that there is an intelligent and strategic influence sweeping through our lives orchestrating the perfect conditions for our Ultimate fulfilment. Its intention is to annihilate all illusionary constructs held as true. The ego is a formidable warrior and fights with great valour to justify its own existence, though regardless of how sophisticated its survival strategies become, the Truth will always expose attitudes reflective of ignorance. Challenges to our perspectives may be viewed as auspicious. What is being identified with, and finally who is identifying? Accepting the Heart's challenge to the ego is finally the only option there is. There will come a time in one's life when a great fatigue will emerge, a deep weariness of struggling and resisting the flow of life. Whilst living by rules imposed by the mind, and enacting them by the unconscious emOT4onal responses, suffering is inevitably experienced. It is such a great effort to hold this story together. In this and every instant the latent opportunity is that you be quiet and attentive. Be Still and Present. Being present is never an avoidance
of pain. It is a willingness to face whatever arises in the present moment.
If fear avails itself, then it is to be present with fear, if love avails,
then be present with That. There is no avoidance in being present. It
is If challenging experiences are insistently present then it is time to listen. There is no virtue in seeking enlightenment as an avoidance of that which is present. The opportunity to Realise is here with the challenge, whatever it may be. Acceptance of the current circumstance is necessary. Enlightenment emerges only in acceptance of the invitation to Be Here, unconditionally present. Quite simply, there is nowhere else to go. |
